Jeff Ross - President & CEO  
 

Jeff RossOver the past sixteen years, teams led by Jeff Ross have acquired and successfully operated a total of 18 FBOs including Vail/Beaver Creek Jet Center, Million Air La Quinta at the Desert Resorts Airport, Million Air Palm Springs at the Palm Springs International Airport, and the Newport Jet Center at the John Wayne Airport.  Additionally, Jeff Ross is a managing member of the Palomar Airport Center which celebrated its grand opening in 2006 at the McClellan Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, California.  At each FBO Jeff’s team increased fuel sales, market share, operating profits and ultimately invested capital. This growth was driven by a strict attention to details, well trained and motivated employees and industry growth. 

 

Jeff Ross graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and holds a M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business. He has lived in Denver since 1981 and is active in community and charitable organizations. Previously, from 1979 through 1991, Jeff was President of the Cairn Companies, a real estate acquisition and investment firm with a strong presence in Denver and Atlanta. Additionally, from 1985 through 1991, Jeff was President of Southeastern Capital Corporation. While at Southeastern, Jeff directed the acquisition, sale and recapitalization of a number of operating companies. 

 

Jeff Ross is also a Managing Partner of CapEx, L.P. CapEx is a $60 million mezzanine and equity fund based in Denver, Colorado investing in private and small public companies. CapEx provided financing to a variety of industries including aviation, manufacturing, service and distribution.

 

Over the past 20 years Jeff has directed approximately 65 acquisitions, financings and sales involving excess of $700 million.  Jeff was the Chairman of the Webb-Warring Board of Trustees, an officer of the Country Club Historic Neighborhood Board and a member of YPO. He enjoys grueling bike rides, golf and skiing with his wife, Mary. They have two children, Willie and Olivia. 

 
     
     
  Greg Ross - Director of Acquisitions  
 

Greg RossGreg Ross has sixteen years of FBO industry experience. Prior to joining Ross Aviation, his FBO career has encompassed: identifying and pursuing business development opportunities as executive vice president of Regent Aviation in St. Paul, MN; directing the industry’s leading business brokerage and advisory practice as COO and EVP of Aviation Resource Group International of Denver; and operating and divesting a portfolio of Canadian FBOs and aviation real estate assets as general manager and COO of Aerospace Realties. 

 

Greg has completed dozens of FBO transactions as broker and principal; valued numerous FBOs for sale, acquisition and estate planning purposes; analyzed a wide variety of FBOs for potential acquisition and operational and strategic consulting purposes; and directly operated FBOs at two major metropolitan airports. Greg has developed relationships with and acted on behalf of most of the industry’s major chains and key independents. 

 

Greg’s non-aviation experience includes management of a $30 million real estate subordinated debt fund and management of a $1.5 billion portfolio of loans and relationships with major real estate developers for a large Canadian bank. Greg holds Bachelors Degrees in Economics and Law from the University of Western Ontario and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Dalhousie University.  Outside of aviation, Greg enjoys time with his wife, Laura, and their four children -- Jamey, Lindsay, Olivia and Jackson, golf, skiing and hockey. He coaches hockey and serves on the Board of the Front Range Amateur Hockey Association.

 
     
     
  Steven W. Gampp - Chief Financial Officer  
 

Steven W. Gampp joined Ross Aviation LLC in March 2006 as Chief Financial Officer.

Steve has more than 30 years of financial and executive business experience.  From 1996 to 2005, he was a senior executive with Jones International, Ltd., the parent company of multiple subsidiaries in the Internet, e-commerce, software, education, entertainment, radio programming, and cable television industries.  Among other roles, he was the chief executive officer of the Jones Knowledge companies, including Jones International University, Ltd.; the president of Jones Cyber Solutions; and, the chief financial officer for Jones International.  He currently is a member of the Board of Directors of Jones International University.

Prior to joining Jones, he served as the vice president, secretary and treasurer for Nu-West Industries Inc., a publicly-traded mining and manufacturing company.  While at Nu-West, he played a critical role in the company's financial recovery and success, with primary responsibilities for business development, commercial and investment banking relationships, tax compliance, and investor/security analyst/financial market relations.

Prior to Nu-West, he served as vice president of acquisitions and finance for Quinoco Petroleum Inc., where he was responsible for the company's acquisition activities, commercial and investment banking relationships, tax compliance, and financial accounting and reporting.

Steve holds a bachelor's degree in business/accounting from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and a master's degree in taxation from the University of Denver.  A Certified Public Accountant, he is a member of both the American and the Colorado societies of Certified Public Accountants.

 
     
     
  Laura Maier - Corporate Controller  
 

Laura L. Maier joined Ross Aviation, LLC in July 2007 as Corporate Controller.

 

Prior to accepting the position with Ross Aviation, Laura served as the Controller of fixed base operator Corporate Aircraft, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ross Aviation LLC.

 

Prior to joining Corporate Aircraft, she served as Assistant Controller for a California Tribal government with a large gaming operation.  While there, she brought the Tribe’s contracts and grants with the state and federal government into compliance, resolving prior audit findings and avoiding current ones.  Other accomplishments include, implementation of fixed asset barcoding and monitoring on the Rancheria, implementation of accounts receivable management procedures, implementation of electronic data storage, and development of policies and procedures for the government.

 

Prior to the Tribal government, Laura was a Supervisor with Baker, Peterson & Franklin, CPA, LLP, a large local firm in Fresno, specializing in governmental and non-profit audits, staff education and client education.  While there, she was a facilitator for client classes designed to help managers and owners better understand their financial statements.  Junior accountants were regularly scheduled on her audits to receive training.

 

Prior to Baker, Peterson & Franklin, she was a Supervisor with Borchardt, Corona & Faeth, CPA, LLP out of Fresno.  While there, Laura specialized in audits of school districts and city governments, employee benefit plans, and non-profits.  She also prepared corporate, partnership, individual, non-profit and employee benefit tax returns.

Laura holds a bachelor’s degree in business/accounting from the Craig School of Business located on the California State University, Fresno campus.  She is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of both the American and Colorado societies of Certified Public Accountants.

 
     
     
  Sara Krajacic  
 

Sara Krajacic joined Ross Aviation LLC in July 2007 and serves as an acquisition analyst. Prior thereto she was a Senior Associate at Ernst & Young LLP in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services group. While at Ernst & Young, she conducted financial statement audits and reviews, agreed upon procedures and divestiture audits for clients in a variety of industries. Sara received a Bachelors and Masters of Accountancy from the University of Missouri. A Certified Public Accountant, she is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as both the Colorado and Missouri Societies of Certified Public Accountants.
