Ross Aviation, LLC (“Ross Aviation”) is pleased to confirm that it has acquired the Scottsdale AirCenter at Scottsdale Airport (“SDL”) in Scottsdale, Arizona.
We are extremely proud to add this facility and operation, its great employees, and tremendous customers to our growing portfolio of FBOs. In each of its first two years of operation, Scottsdale AirCenter rated in the top-five in the Aviation International News survey ranking North American FBOs. This was a truly unique opportunity to acquire a newly-built, premier facility and operation offering first-class service in a rapidly growing and highly attractive market. We pledge to continue to provide the superior services and facilities that our customers have come to expect and that have helped Scottsdale AirCenter garner industry-wide recognition.
The stunning and spacious facility provides 77,000 square feet of hangar, 690,000 square feet of concrete ramp, and 22,000 square feet of executive terminal, pilots’ lounge, and office space. The executive terminal features an elegant conference room, two well-appointed lobbies, private telephone booths, high speed wireless internet access, luxurious restrooms, and a gift center. The pilots’ lounge is a stand-alone, private facility that is well appointed with a big-screen television, comfortable furniture, fitness equipment, snooze rooms, flight planning room, computers with high speed internet connections, and a fully-equipped kitchen.
The proven management team, directed by industry veteran Tommy Walker, will continue to lead and grow the business under Ross Aviation’s ownership. Herb Marchman, who led the former ownership team, will play a key role in the development and operation of the new 130,000 square foot hangar and office facility to be constructed on the west side of runway 3/21.
Ross Aviation was established through a partnership between Centre Partners Management LLC (“Centre Partners”) and industry veterans Jeff Ross and Greg Ross (no relation). Based in Denver, Colorado, Ross Aviation acquired Denver Air at Jeffco Airport in suburban Denver, Colorado as its first acquisition in December 2004. Its next acquisition, Santa Fe Jet Center, is expected to close in September. Ross Aviation is actively looking to acquire independently owned FBOs and wholly-owned portfolios, located in areas with attractive demographics and significant growth opportunities.
Centre Partners, with offices in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas, is a private equity investment firm focused exclusively on supporting strong middle market companies. Founded in 1986, Centre Partners and it affiliates have invested over $3 billion of equity capital in more than 80 private equity transactions.
